Re: Nov. 6 Germany- Cologne- Köln Arena setlist watch
Just got home from the show. And what a show it was.
Badmuts´ setlist is right. Don´t know where the German board got it´s information from. Must have been a different concert. The roof definitly went up a few inches. Not like we are used to when he´s doing E Street concerts, but a you could see/feel a small gap opening up and stars shining through. Burce is only one year younger than my dad and he did two and a half hour show that was just one big party. And right now I´m trying to imagine my old man doing such a party, which is, I have to admit, difficult. Even My City of Ruins was more like a party or happy song. It was more about rising up with these hands than mourning about the ruins. I´ve never heard an accordion rock like this, starting during John Henry and coming back during many other songs. I´ve seen kids, 8 or 10 years old, on the shoulders of their dads, with hands up just like the crowd, imitating the hand moves you can see during the Born to run video. Growin´ up was played and sung like he did Dylan´s I want you during the mid 70´s and (sorry Heidi) The River sounded great, like reinvented. Long Time coming for Patty and the kids, that are in high school age "which means they can´t be trusted". Erie Canal: "Looooooooooooooow bridge...", one of my favourites, Oklahoma Home: "blowed away", Mrs McGrath: intense, Poor man: the horn section, and then the unavoidable Wolfgang Niedecken in his hometown during Pay me my money down. Again he didn´t get the lyrics right, just like in Frankfurt, but I still like for his usual job. The last two songs "This little Light" and "American Land" made the audience leave with a big smile or grin and it looked like everybody carried home a little light in their eyes. Thanks Boss, thanks once again.
