Jan Joosse, Rest In Peace

Image

Today the sad news reached us that one of our greatest music friends,( JEA Treeservice, and founder of the former JEA forum ) died in Brazil

Translation from the announcement:

We cannot not understand yet what happened to us.
Our Father , Son and Brother Jan Joosse suddenly died.

He made the choice to follow his own way

Jan , we will never forget you, the founder of the JEA board.
I promise you that you 'll always be remembered by your dutch Springsteen pals and all the friends you have, all over the world,
in special on this board. ( Cadillac Ranch www.springsteen.no )

The last beer we had together was in Belgium ,
Next one together will be in heaven.

Thank you for everything Jan, rest in peace.

Every day here you come walking
I hold my tongue, I don't do much talking
You say you're happy and you're doin' fine
Well go ahead, baby, I got plenty of time
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie

Well for a while I've been watching you steady
Ain't gonna move 'til you're good and ready
You show up and then you shy away
But I know pretty soon you'll be walkin' this way
Sad eyes never lie
Sad eyes never lie

You can add your condolences in this topic.
I will take care that all that is written here will reach his family.

Thank you.

Paulus ( aka Badmuts )

Wow, I guess nobody knows what to say. I'll take a shot.

The first music I ever downloaded from the internet was from the old Joose site. I did that around the same time that I first figured out how to post on BS.Net and the rest is history.

But it all started with Joose. Or Jan, I should say.

He was, most definately, at the very least, one of the true pioneers of bringing us all together via the internet. He certainly figured it out sooner than the rest of us.

Anyway, so for that, and for sharing this common Bruce bond that we all share, I say Thanks...and rest in peace.

This is indeed very sad. We are brothers and sisters all, and we have lost one of the family. The fact that his efforts have brought pleasure to so many of us is incidental to the tragedy but will be his lasting legacy for those like me who never had the chance to meet him.

Re: Jan Joosse, Rest In Peace

Today I was in Middelburg, Jan's former hometown, there was a memorial service organized by his family and friends. Jan was buried in Brazil according his own wish on the 18th of January in Manaus.
There were prayers, words of comfort and music.

I handed all the printed internet condolances from all the Springsteen -messageboards to his three sons, I had made a 75 page booklet out of it,
as a tribute from the Springsteen community to Jan.

On behalf of Jan's family:
To all of you that posted , thank you so much for doing this.
All those words of simpathy gives so much comfort.
It's good to experience all those feelings and thoughts from all over the world. Thank you all.

The music that was played during the service:
Follow That Dream, & You're Missing by Bruce Springsteen
In My Place by Coldplay,
A Day Without Rain by Enya,
and Time To Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman.
