Re: Mini Xmas Meet Up North
This has gone silly. Perhaps those hoping to go should sort it out off-line?

Re: Mini Xmas Meet Up North
Since I just managed to read this thread as far as about 8.15 last night, and then had to go, I spent hours and hours overnight unable to sleep, worrying about you lot.
As I am an old bloke who had very little sleep, I feel I have earned the right to post the main thoughts that kept me awake.
Time spent with loved ones, whether friends or family, is precious. Cherish the opportunities that you have to get together and, if you can't be at a get-together, cherish the fact that you have so many friends that you can never hope to spend enough time with them in a lifetime.
For the record, the biggest meet-up I have ever been to was Dublin in 2003, and there were still some absent friends. The smallest was when I saw Mr. Whisty at a motorway service station for 5 minutes so he could hand over some concert tickets, but the spirit of meet-up was still there.
Also for the record, we have all missed out on at least one significant opportunity to get together in our time, whether we called it a meet-up or not.
Also for the record, I love you all in an appropriate way, so it's not my intention to upset anyone. I'm just emotionally frazzled and, probably, least said soonest mended, but I had to get this down or I'd be a wreck all day.
On a calmer note, please bear in mind that Sat May 5th is on the Bank Holiday weekend, so if anybody does fancy a mini-break in Embra to see BTR, it might be wise to sort out a hotel soonish and to start a new thread.
Now, a Happy New Year to you all, I have a job to go to and a desk to sleep at!
xxx in case anybody doubts that I love you all, you dafties!
P.S. I am sober, naturally, and I am OK, just a little 'greety'.

Re: Mini Xmas Meet Up North
I forgot to post that I closed this thread as it had run it's course and had gone off topic.
It would be easier to start a new thread for the next meet-up wherever and whoever wish to meet. And of course, there will be loads of them all over the place. Sometimes two or three people, sometimes more.
The next big one, wherever that is, will, I'm sure be well flagged up.
:)
