Can People Update Me
..On how they are doing? I would really appreciate hearing how everyone's doing. I haven't been here for a very long time. I just want to say hi and hope that things are well with everyone.
I just read the news about Stephen passing. I am stunned, absolutely stunned to hear this news.
As for me, things have been pretty good, though some serious health issues in my family. I'm healthy, probably the healthiest I've been in a long time, which feels fantastic but, things with my sister are not good. She suffered a major stroke this past September and it appeared she wasn't going to make it. She pulled through but, not without major complications as a result of the stroke.
My son was also hospitilized two times this past year and he needs to be followed closely, for the enlarged lymph nodes in his lungs. Aside from these things, life is okay. I've learned that we are so powerless over many things in life, this has always been a challenge for me to accept but, I'm learning to be more accepting of things I have no control over.

Nice to see that you're still around and kicking. I was thinking of you, especially after the news came out about Stephen passing away. I was hoping you might chime in and let us know how you're doing.
It's true that we are powerless over many things that happen in life. All we can do is enjoy every moment the best we can, and not take anything for granted.
My Mother has been in her hospital bed since 2007, but she still does her exercises and stays positive despite her health issues and inability to walk. My Father looks after her and my brother around the clock. The only time he gets time off is when he is working part time. I visited them for Thanksgiving and treated him to a spa manicure and pedicure after swimming in the ocean with him. It humbles me to see just how much he loves her, that he does everything for her without ever complaining. I am fortunate to come from a home that has always had unconditional love.
My Sister has been in hospital since April, 2010. She still suffers from mental illness but she is finally starting to get better after she realised what medication she needs. She is a Nurse and stated that her prblem is that the nuero transmitters aren't working in her brain and recommended a medication to the Doctor that she had taken 10 years ago. He prescribed it, and her brain is strating to function normally now. As normal as it could I suppose. My heart goes out to her because sahe was the one who did everything right. She graduated High School at the top of her class, graduated college and became a Nurse, married the man of her dreams and after giving birth to her first son, her mental illness kicked in. She lost everything. Her marriage, her son, and even when she started over by getting remarried she lost her 2nd marriage and her children after 10 years of struggling. I also visited her at the hospital when I was there. The first visit was heartbreaking, but the 2nd visit went as well as it could.
My Son is doing well. He and Jennifer celebrated their 2nd wedding annivrsary at Thanksgiving time. We had a wonderful visit & I spent Thanksgiving with her family. I intend to spend every Thabnksgiving with them, and send Christmas here. It works out best that way & I get the best f both worlds with all of my family.
Kirk and I are happy as ever. I don't know what I did to deserve such a wonderful marriage and such a happy life, but I never take it for granted. We have a new dog, Alfie which was a twist of fate. He looks just like Twiggy. One of my colleagues introduced me to a Lady who couldn't keep him anymore because her grandkids are allergic. It broker her heart to give him away, but she is welcome here anytime to visit him. She came for a visit on Christmas Eve and I'm glad that she did.
The kids are great too. Lucy is 17 and Ewan is 14. They are very talented singers, musicians, artists and also love performing in plays. I am amazed by their talent.
Work is still busy and competitive as ever, but I still enjoy recruitment. I am on a management course again that takes me to London almost every month, and I am 1 of 50 volunteers within the company that will be an Olympic Gamesmaker this year, so I am going to be on another train to London next week as my Operations Director nominated me to be a Talking Head for our annual conference in February. I'm a bit nervous because they are going to film me and I am going to be featured on a jumbotron that several hundred people will watch & I want to give a good impression. The topic is "Better Work, Better Life" which is our mission statement, and they would like for me to talk about how my work has made my life better including a mention on the 2012 Olympics.
Well that's me done for now! The dog has already gone to bed and I need to get some zzzz's too!
PS: Kirk is taking me to Paris in July for 2 Bruce shows and I didn't have to ask! It was a lovely surprise. Hope you get US shows announced soon and there's one near you XxX

Oh Ramona, thank you, thank you for bringing me up to speed with your life. My gosh, where have the years gone? The munchins' (I still call them that : )
are almost adults! Sounds like they are doing so well. That's sweet to hear that you are spending time with your family during Thanksgiving and it's great that you are able to do that. I was out in Caifornia this past September, I accompanied a friend who was going through a very nasty divorce, for the final divorce decree. Unfortunately, we didn't have any time for pleasure jaunts, strictly court sessions. We did eat out though and I tried some new foods, we went to this one hamburger place, something with "Brother's" in it's name and it was so delicious. We don't have them here in Colorado, I wished we did.
My daughter finishes with her masters in nursing this coming fall. It's been hard but she's getting B+'s on all her papers, which she hates because nothing less than A's has ever been acceptable to her, in her work, but as hard as the classes are, she's happy with her grades.
I'm so happy for you and Kirk..going to Paris to see Bruce! WooHoo!! That is wonderful to hear! I still can't believe Clarence is longer here. I was so sad when he passed away, he was my favorite, besides Bruce. I am at a loss for words over Stephen's recent passing. Incredibly shocking and sad. It's kind of funny looking back, he and I didn't get along for a very long time, then we became friends, then we argued a bit and now he's gone. I wished I would have kept better in touch with him and told him how much he really did make me laugh. He was so witty. I loved that about him.
I still have me beloved pets, Max, my cat is still a little beast but, I love him lot's. I swear, my kids were less of a handful when they were toddlers than Max is! My dog, Minka is really getting up there in doggie years, she's such a love bug. She turned 11 in November.

Hi Steph; no real news with me. My eldest son is now at high school with his sister. He has found it challenging in some ways but is doing really well. The other children are really well and my cat is now nearly 17. :)
It is really nice to see you here. I don't think anyone was posting for a long time but the news about Stephen made people come back to post their memories of him.
Glad things are ok with you but sorry your sister and son have had health concerns.

my life is so different from what it was when i frequented here i don't even know where to begin!!
BUT, rachel and jacob are fabulous!! rachel is working in bristol, ct for ESPN and jacob is finishing his senior year of college majoring in english/journalism. he has his own local radio show and an internship with the new indoor soccer team here. he would love to join his sister in bristol!!
