Honestly, all this talk of footy and cricket! emoticon

My colleague is going to lend me her Peter Kay and Billy Connelly DVD's so at least we can tick that off the list!

I would recommend The Lowry, Salford

 http://www.thelowry.com/

. . . . . or the Imperial War Museum North, the exhibits are moving and the building's amazing!

http://north.iwm.org.uk/

Both are free but invite donations.

There's more to us than TV!!!!!!!

Yes, Thanks very much, SD! Fantastic suggestions. I would LOVE to spend time at the Lowry and was hoping to visit the War Museum, especially on the Day of Remembrance, but as Kirk says the munchkins weren't very keen on it, which is disappointing. I think we appreciate things like that more as we get older, and realise the true sacrifice our soldiers and their families made.

Helen was telling me about the War Museum last night....the room filled with huge filing cabinets each recounting real life war experiences sounds fantastic...and the building is beautiful too!

Must put that on the list for when we visit Leeds!

By three I mean Jill, Davy and Ev. He would love the Lowry. There are flat caps and mirrors for children. They can try on a cap, look in the mirror and do a self portrait!
