I phoned Jessie from work this afternoon to wish her well. She actually worked 1/2 the day herself!

Jessie was getting her hair done when I called and I asked if Chance had headed for the hills yet. She said she didn't know because he wasn't with her. She sighed and said "He is out buying a dress shirt. At the last minute!" I just told her to be grateful for that because she will probably have to be picking out his clothing in a couple of years.

Jessie did buy a new dress to wear. It's black. I can't say too much about that considering that I wore purple clown shoes at my wedding.

I am glad that she did get a dress to wear, is having her hair done and most of all I am glad that she decided to carry a bouquet of flowers. Gerber daisies and she is also sticking one into her hair. You have to have flowers for a wedding even if it is a short civil service at the courthouse. I am certain that she will look beautiful, as always.

I just got home from work and phoned her and left a message; I know she is out to dinner right now. I wanted to hear how things went and who wound up showing up for the dinner. Of course I also wanted to know what Skeletor was having for dinner. And I wanted to tell her that I already had to use her new name because I had to fill out my 'emergency contact' list at work today. I thought she would get a kick out of that.

I also wanted to congratulate my new nephew-in-law. I wanted to rub it in that he is now officially part of the family!! Poor man. And I wanted to tell him "Jessie is very, very bossy (though he already knows this!). Don't sweat over the small stuff and just ask yourself if making a big deal out of something small is worth the trouble it will cause." Also, I have to give him the compulsory warning that if he hurts Jessie or doesn't treat her well then he is going to have to deal with me and her Uncle Keith.

His best man, Michael, already has my back on that one. I found out (by complete accident) about the pregnancy when we were in England.

Michael and I were sitting on a stoop in Brighton talking (just before he went down to the sea with me to spread Frankie's ashes). I didn't let on that I knew about the pregnancy and Michael didn't let on that he knew about it either. I asked him about Chance's character. Michael said he was fine. I asked him to keep an eye on her for me and he promised me that he would. Michael is a man that would never go back on his word or his promises. Michael is the most honorable man I have ever met.

Jaysus! I forgot to remind Jessie to take lots of photos of Michael for me!

Ha, has no one being reading those long threads about her past Barefoot has been posting the past few years.

As for Sarnia hotels, Barefoot, nah, stayed at a place closer to the Golden Mile. In fact, I don't think I had ever set foot in the Drawbridge Inn until a few years ago. But I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by our 1-week stay there a couple of summers ago. "The key to happiness is lowered expectations". I was there in the summer, with fireworks from various different locales on either side of the river going off practically every night, Centennial Park was just steps away, and I got addicted to the Asian chicken salads at McDonald's down the street.

I finally just received the photos from Jessie (after a lot of nagging!). I saved them to my pc, downloaded them all to my flickr account and they are all blurry now.

I will post a few after I figure out how to fix this.

Jessie looks gorgeous and happy. Chance looks like he has just won the lottery. Peapod looks pissed off and a bit unhappy.

Chance's best friend, my Michael, from our trip to Ireland looks just as I remember him. H O T. He now has a gf and she looks like she is about 15 years older than him and she looks like a school teacher. She is also blond and he told me he preferred brunettes. She is a bit dowdy and bit pudgy and if he was going to go that far he could have gone for me!

Do I sound jealous? That is because I am!
