GREAT telly-vision spot, Dar!
Did Richard pick his favorite teacher?

Great to hear that Jimmy is doing better, too.
The power of PA... {LV}

So we'll be sending some of that to Rich. {LV}
Please let him know I send my sympathies, Nicu.

JukE~ you took the words right out of my mouth with your bilingually post. emoticon

Haven't found my Saturn yet - altho I have a possible in Cary.

Cleaned out the L200 today. {crying posticon}
Made sure to take my NJSHERRY plate, my (shitty brown) graduation tassel, Grandpa's fireman badge and my Texas necklace.
I REALLY liked that car.
Everybody who saw that car said I was damn lucky I wasn't seriously hurt.

I was tawking to Billy when I got home. He said that Saturn parts are going to be harder to get. He thinks I should look into a Ford Fusion.
Safety has to be a top priority. Sandy started Drivers Ed today. emoticon

Off to rEsearch . . .

Have you guys heard the duet with Bruce and Roseanne Cash? Sea of Heartbreak. They have played it a couple of times today on KGSR.

You weren't just lucky, you were in a Saturn.
That's how they built them.
It's a damn shame the idiots heading up GM destroyed Saturn from within.

Ah, the Magic one emerges... emoticon

Sherry - look at Corollas. It's fuel-efficient and has very low maintenance costs (basically just oil changes most of the time). They've been making them bigger for the last few years too, so maybe there's more metal around the driver now.

Re: ThE Austin Pit Crew ~ chapter 6

where is that crying icon????
I made a long post last night, post-show.. and it vanished into hotel internet oblivion.. and I didn't have it in me to redo it~
sorry... I'll do my best to 2 day update yall and remember it all.. AND save it before I hit send!

Sherry... Yes... one thing I loved about the Saturn was the safety... good cars to be able to walk away from.... one thing I do like about the Kia too... but I miss my Lexan body panels... my Kia is loaded with airbags all around~

UM.... correction... SUBlingually!!!! and apparently he had just received a SUBlingual dose before the vistit and was out of it... so no more good news on the Jimmy front... but then, so long as he is comfy, we are happy!

OK.... um... Friday... lets see... ok... Times my day perfectly... hung around the hotel checking emails, taking calls and messages...got he deets on Rich's Dad's stuff... took my shower, loaded up the coolers and headed to EWR to get Spy & Aubby.... found a safe place to rest the car... No Parking/No standing.. Ok, I'll just rest... (some airports are so bad about that... slow down and kick your travel out at low speed!) The we head up to the stadium... and we still made it in time to get int eh 1st 1000 :) cool emoticon
We headed back tot eh car to tailgate/eat lunch/relax... head back at 4:30 for pit call... the number is pulled... we were about 300 back... ok~ at this point, the have decided to bring us in to the turnstiles and let us stay there in out groups of 100... where we have access to concession, merch and RESTROOMS! oh and... can hear Soundcheck! awesome! Only bad part... damn it got chilly/windy in there... but I was prepared after Wed... to layers of EVERYTHING! around 6:30, we head in... take spot in the center area about 10 heads back...
The pit was bad that night..lots of pushing and moving around .. too crowded up from... Stan Goldstein to my left, a bunch of pot smokers to my right...
LOVED the Darkness set.. no other major shockers, but still a good show... Bruce's voice was a bit raspy and cracking... I leaned over to Stan and mentions that it sounded like Bruce could use that beer tonight! He said he agreed!... and he'd have put my name in the article she wrote had he known it was mine... eeek, not sure I needed more press!
Moved to the back of the pit after a while... still had a great time back there... but during BTR, the rain started... and did not let up.... I was quick to get in my full body condom.. I am NOT getting sick!!!!
We'd planned to tailgate post show.. but that wasnt much fun in the rain.. but traffic was ugly.. so we hung in the car a long time...
Good times....
came back to hotel tired and in need of dry clothes...

Martin.. sorry I could not take the calls... hope the travel went well!!!
ok... I know I left some stuff out .. the original post is too far from my mind,... but that still covers most of it!

Bruce was apparently as excited as the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen, I've had an erection lasting more than four hours — I should get to the emergency room. But first!..."

Re: ThE Austin Pit Crew ~ chapter 6

and then there was SATURDAY BRUCE DAY
as I dropped Spy & Aubby off at Sheraton we talked about a plan.. I had a good seat, they had GA... and we knew GA would be crazy on a Saturday.... but damn, we were all tired....
got a txt around 10:30from there saying to not worry about gettin over there to get them, they would just roll with whatever happens with the GA mess.... good, I NEEDED more rest.. tired achy, chest tight, just worn out!... ignored the phone a bit and slowly got around to gettin my day going... I ddi a full breathing treatment and took some vitamin B and some Aleve to get me going... and checked weather... one small line of rain coming .... and of course it came as I was heading up to E Rutherford... so traffic was slow.. picked up my passengers at the Sheraton and went to Giants.... felt bad that they missed the 1000 by only a few minutes, but we'd decided that we'd rather tailgate than spend all day in the lines and turnstiles all afternoon again.... The weather let up within 30 min.... so we kicked back and relaxed with a coupdl coolers.. Deigo from SR.com drove by I recognized him and he parked nearby and joined us.... around 4:30 I got a call from a freind who'd been expecting to see me at the GA lottery draw but forgot to tell me that was the plan.... so plan B... meet him at 6p at gate C, cool, right by the car! I left Spy and Aubby the keys since I didn't know what my 6p plans really were... i ended up gettin some kind of white bracelet and an escort by some guy named James to the GA area... bright orange was the pit bracelet color... apparently with awhite one with todays date and a rose stamped on it mean you can got to the pit without questions.. Ok~
I walked over to the end of that same catwalk I was at on Wed.. but at the end of the catwalk there was a better view of the band :) and it was too warm to pull off the beer thing... though a few of the same people were there and recognized me as the beer person... and were hoping I'd do it again.... sorry guys~! before showtime I needed to visit on of those dreaded porta jons we had to deal with for GA.. eeek! ran into Spy.. he and Aubby made it in... for some reason, late in the game, they gave out same color orange bracelets.. bigger numbers, but not as visible!~ huh.. good for them!
Showtime... cool people around us.. the guy next to me said he'd seen me at a lot of shows.. he and his wife live in Burlington!!! cool.. another couple NC fans!! Oh miss QuEen.. you have cool neighbors! except i forgot the get their names.. oh well.. I will in Charlotte~
Wasnt lookin forward to BitUSA as much as either other album, but ya know.. been years since I listening to it... it was pretty cool... title track still not my fave, and we'd had 3 of the songs last night.. but still I had forgotten the song order so it was fun!!
My greatest moments: Promised Land.. Bruce came to our catwalk and played the harmonica and dripped sweat all over us.. I tapped his boot to the beat.... our local crowd was good but when Bruce is there.. there will be pushing... but they all backed off quickly :) damn Bruce still looks fine!!
We actually had a show sans Badlands.. wow... but still cool~ a 13 year old was celebrating her Bday in the pit.. and did the dance with Bruce during Ditd... danced very well.. so it was cool...
I was a bit worried about Clarence.. at the end of the album each night the orgianl band members come forward... C did not come when Bruce called them up... so B looks over and grabs the rest of them to join C! so sweet of B... LOVED Last to Die & Long walk together again.. but during Long Walk, C missed his solo.. still holding his maracas, Nils came over and said "that's You!" prompting him to grab a sax~
Come sign time.. I look over to the side area and see a familar face and smile.... Bruce is doin his thing... holding up sigsn but too fast for me to see what he flashed in front of the camera awkwardly.... so I dont know what's coming... but I do know I'm heading to the back to say hi to a friend... and.... HOLY OMG.... JERSEY GIRL!!! wow.... I've heard iot before.. bt never been abel to dance with a sweetheart to it... *sigh* I lean int to him and say it's no "Back in Your Arms" but it will do~ then Kitty... eh.. not my fave.. but I had fun anyway... my frind was with Max Weinberg's nephew... he was cool.. nice guy, good sense of humor.... ove the whole crazy fan thing,m but really did seem to enjoy seeing Bruce... in hindsight I should have dragged him back up to where I had been near the catwalk cuz during Waitin, Bruce came back over there... his eyes were huge... if only I had... I'd have bee a new best friend... oh wait.. he can meet Bfuce backstage... LOL just ask uncle Max, of cousin Jay~... he was also thrilled with the fireworks reminder... took some nice fireworks over the band photos~
all to soon, this show was over~
back to the lot to tailgate with a few different groups.. took me some time to make to the party goin on at my car... I had a setiist from Friday in my pocket and gave it Digo.. he was almost in tears and didnt want to give it back... I told him to keep it... he gave me a huge bear hug~
and next thing we know, traffic was clear, we packed it in and headed to the hotel for drop offs.. By Spy, By Aubby!! safe travel~
made a phone call to check on a tired friend on the way home.. Bruce was gone and he was on his way home too... and here I am back in my 'home' for the week... only a couple hours til football time~
good night my friends~

Re: ThE Austin Pit Crew ~ chapter 6

Hey some great posts have been made yesterday!

I love that vid darlene.. Great kid and now i now what you look like and how your voice sounds. It does make my day emoticon

Sherry, so sorry about your car... i do hope you find a good replacement...

Beth.. thanks, it felt like i have been there too, when reading your posts...

Martin made it home safe, he might post later on..

Yesterday was a good day, did all the shopping within 1.15 hours, then rushed home and cleaned, while jeroen took eva to horseriding. My phone came in (finally) and it is a great gizmo.. i secretly wish i had taken that internet subscription too. But it turned out it was better i had not, when the mailman dropped two huge bills on our doorstep.. Yikes.. one of my dentist, and one from the dutch IRS, we have had too much tax back this year, so they want their money back. Hubby said he was just glad that he already made a reservation for the new pooter, we might purchase one this week, there is a great one on a bargain price for sale at our local Aldi (supermarket with non food offers every week)

We went to two birhtdays, jeroens sister and the son of our best friends.. so it was fun.. Jeroens mum was there too, she was not good, but not too bad either... Mixing up things, and she did not have her hearing aid in... Wich made some things rather funny lol... She was not happy with us getting a dog, but jeroen said, mum, this is our life, and if we think a dog fits in there, it is our decision. She backed off then, i still wonder why she was so irritated about it. She might fear that we have less time for her then.. i don t know.

Today we will finish the garden/terrace work. Then i can start on renovating our stairs.. Jeroen will be away to sweden for a week, so i will start then.. better not give him notice of it in advance lol...

I ordered a great bit cardboard elk's head as a surprise. When he comes back after his week of hunting it will be hanging on our chimney I hope he likes the joke...

After a stormy saturday, sundays weather seems sunny and calm... Leaves start to colour, so holland is once again pretty...

Re: ThE Austin Pit Crew ~ chapter 6

Good morning!

Love the Bruce posts, Beth!

Yep, Sherry, Richard got to pick his teacher. That's what makes it sooo special. His coach called me just before school on Wedn. It had been a yuck morning, so it made my day way better. Tom Suiter, the sports voice in the background, is a local hero :-) around here-been working w/ the WRAL-5 news for +30 yrs. Has the best stories, of which he shared many while we were waiting. I'd done this once before, when pregnant with Jenna. That day I wrote all my notes out, was so nervous, dropped them in the toilet, so this time, I decided to just answer the questions. You do like 5 mins of interview then they pull out what they need. Called his mom Friday afterschool, to reinforce. She's a single parent..her mom passed in April, she was diagnosed w/ breast cancer in 2006. I taught Richard in 7th grade and now again his senior year. Great kid.

Kia's are good, Sherry! As of this moment, I have no complaints. The warranty is awesome. You get their version of AAA with it.

PA for a student. Can't say name. He lives with his grandfather and his new wife. Last week, the EMT is called for grandfather in middle of night. After they left en rout to hospital, the step-grandmom woke him up at 1:30 am and kicked him out. He's staying with his aunt. This might be a better situation once the kinks are worked out; I was concerned about him in that home. Had this kid last year.

Homecoming festivities this week. It's always fun, just so much work. Plus yday there was a huge amt of drama when the seniors went to visit the home of the junior float and then juniors went to seniors. Because Dylan is a junior, I got a call from the Student Council advisor (some of yall "know" her). This ended up taking up 7 hours of my Saturday. Everything is fine with Dylan and that's honestly the thing I was most concerned about w/ this situation.

Found a neat store yday. It's near me, called The Purple Shoe. It's a thrift store w/ all proceeds going to victims of domestic violence. Very nice inside, w/ a boutique feel. Got a nice fall sweater and 3 shirts for Jenna all for under $18.

Happy day to all of you wonderful Bruce people!! {LV}

Howdy!

Great stuff, Beth, Bill and Martin!

Good luck w/ the car hunt, Sherry! Find another safe one, m'kay???

We're having a quiet weekend...good thing...next weekend is gonna be busy! Heading to San Marcus for a meeting on Thursday, then meeting Kelly at a campground in New Braunfels (check that place out, y'all!).

This week I've made it out to see Leo about four times. It's so very pleasant out there, and the arena is such a safe place to ride... We'll be stepping up our training there. Time to get over some fears...mine mostly.

We're starting a candle sale fundraiser this week. Anyone need candles...they make lovely gifts! LOL!

M'kay...off for cawfee...
