Re: ThE Austin Pit Crew..... Chapter 5 (2009)

On March 2nd, 2003 a bunch of misfits boarded the train for the Land of Hopes and Dreams.
It was a special group… most Pit Crews get smaller as time passes and people get busy with their own lives. But this Crew grew, gathering new members who have never even been to Austin or Texas.

We only have one real rule:
No PBS (Political Bull$h!t) Keep your negative comments on our leaders off this thread. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

There are also a couple of … “guidelines”…
1. If you’re looking for a fight, this is the wrong place. You don’t take just one on… you take on the whole Crew.
2. There are no short people, or horizontally challenged people, no matter what people hovering about 6’ say.
3. There are no accents: we all talk and sound the same. Of course, since everyone wants to be from Jersey, and there are only a select few that are, we just pretend we all have an accent. So don’t be surprised if you see “awl” for “all” and “cawfee” for “coffee”. We all just fake it.
4. If you are the first poster at the top of a page, you are considered Page Queen/King. You have the option of declaring a decree.
This brings us to…

Our Motto : It’s a tragic world, but there is grace all around you.
So attend to the grace. {LV}

Translation… BE POSITIVE. We believe in the power of Positive Affirmation and in Visualization.

If you’re looking for a friendly bunch to hang out with, tawk things over with, and in general have fun with, just post!!
We welcome awl.

Next up... we tend to use acronyms quite often.

gees you stay away for more then one day, and you are moved without knowing...

tree! eaks fire is soo scary.. We had one in our neighbours house (witch was attached to our house) 8 years ago... The most frigthing thing it was... hubby was admitted in hospitatl for inhaling too much smoke cause he used our fire extinguisher (hard word) to put it out...

this weekend was glorious... Lots of outdoor fun and some socialising with dear friends... Yesterdat we went a skating after eva's horsridinglessons and the inevitable grocery shopping. In a small nature reserve with semi wild ponys and cows.... Beautifull, lake, dike, river all covered in white... Curious brown ponies looking at those funny things we had with us (sleighs) and lots of families having fun. My mum took a peek and the children where thrilled to see her, she is 76 so not allowed on the ice anymore but she did enjoy the walk in, althoug the path was to icy at the last point.

This morning we went skating on a huge lake while hubby went icediving in the same lake... (we feld a barrier between us lol )

Now we are passed out in front of the fire. Jeroen
(hubby) is getting the kids in as it is getting dark....

his mum is fine at the moment... so we will wait and see.

Thanks for all the elderly home stories, but she just grits her teeth and says NO WAY!!!.. So her kids have to see what is best for her, and also talk to the shrink... Great to be supported this way by you lot...

I'm headin downstairs again, to enjoy the warmth of the fire and a glass of wine

Nothing's wrong it's just insane

Just in from the play....hamburgers in the oven...Steelers on the TV...

MELZ: the play was awesome. I don't know my camera well, so the pics aren't great (lighting!), but I'll send once downloaded. At one pt Dylan/George was talking to Emily out his window and the trellises fell. My Dylan had to laugh-just couldn't hold it in. Then when Father Webb was having the woman talk w/ George, Father Webb forgot about a page of lines. Of course we the audience didn't know. emoticon I'd never seen "Our Town"; that's a pretty deep play. We really enjoyed it. My dad came and seemed to like it; he laughed aloud a few times.

Feeling pretty sad for the Panthers too, but at least our QueEn had some good viewing pleasures!

Laters, skaters!

Re: ThE Austin Pit Crew..... Chapter 5 (2009)

ARRRGH parallel worlds...when does Ch 5 get archived?

BTW you'll have me around more often again to annoy , perhaps amuse yAWL and stir up trouble.

You may or may not be aware of my work situation(similar to da Q but different) but weve been doing some serious thinking about what our priorities are and have developed a strategy and timeline for me to give up some security in exchange for relief from depression ,anxiety and being beat down by a company you have devoted 26 yeats of your life that has decided to try to become big shots in multiple states.

Its VERY bad out there in the job market, you may have seen the Dec #'s 520,000 lost jobs..7% unemployment.

What you DONT hear about is companys growing and not wanting to hire (or unable to find) addtional qualified employees so they just ask for double work and unreasonable expections from those SALARIED employees already on staff.
I Think Dept of Wage and Hour calls it "Forced Overtime"

The thought of a career change or sabbatical @ 49 y/o is scary in any economy but if I don't make a change I could end up like my dead Father..

"Daddy worked his whole life for nothing but the pain"

I have to play the next 30 days like a chess match to make sure everything is covered ie, health insurance, (I can get on C's policy w/ no exam)401 K
etc.

Obviosuly I don't care if they read this or not. The last straw was last week when I was called "an expendable bastard" and forcibly thrown from his office. I'm 6'1" and not easily manhandled. That boss is 6'4 and about 30 y/o.

That was just wrong, so after composing myself went back in his office and offered my resignation, which brought forth an apology...and said he didn't want me to quit.

Thank goodness I have a wonderful talented wife with a good job who has been begging me to make a change and says I can help her by taking care of ME so she doesn't have to worry about me keeling over at the keyboard from stress. Plus I will be able to take care of things in our life that I have put work ahead of for years.

The Raisns may have a househusband for a while.

Well now you all know why I havent been around much lately.

Advice gladly accepted.

Thanks for listening and I love you all.
