LIGHT OF DAY CONCERT
BEDFORD, ENGLAND
December 8 2006
As you are no doubt aware, for the last six years a series of "Light Of Day" concerts have been held in Asbury Park and Sayreville, New Jersey the first five of which featured surprise guest appearances by none other than Bruce Springsteen. We were fortunate enough to be able to organise trips to the shows in 2004 and 2005 and had a fantastic time!
All of these shows have been dedicated to raising funds for the Parkinsons Disease Foundation and would not have happened without the dedicated work of Joe Grushecky's manager, Bob Benjamin. So far over $750,000 has been raised from the Light Of Day concerts.
Now LIGHT OF DAY comes to Europe for the first time with three shows in England, Italy and Spain.
December 8 - Esquires Club, Bedford, England
December 9 - Jailbreak, Rome, Italy
December 10 - Privat, Barcelona, Spain
The UK show features some fabulous artists performing in a "songwriters in the round" format:
JESSE MALIN
WILLIE NILE
JOE D'URSO
MICKEY KEMP
50% of the money raised for this show will stay in the UK and be donated to the Birmingham Queen Elizabeth University Hospital whose sole purpose is funding research into neurodegenerative diseases.
We hope you can make it to what should be a fascinating and fun show and look forward to seeing you there.
Tickets are only £21.00 (inc. booking fee) and are available to buy now from
Badlands

Re: Light of Day England
Fantastic line-up, esp Jesse Malin..
Great cause...the 'orrible, 'orrible Parkinsons disease..
But Esquires!
awwww c'mon...what a dive!
I shall go as I'm so near, but sure they could have got a better venue. I would have even booked it for them!

Re: Light of Day England
It's ok I guess, Doubler.
I've seen loads of hard rock bands there, and just think thats what it's best suited for.
Just thought this particular gig, with such a good cause, warranted a better venue.
But as long as you stay merry and don't wait around til the lights come on at the end, Esquires is fine.
( Do remember in the 90's when my buds from Hull played there, and Ian - the singer- jumped up really high from the stage, and put his head through a ceiling tile! :)
Ahhh..memories!
Are you going then, Doubler? Or just curious?
Don't even know where you live!

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
