I got freakin' bubbling after school today!
You think your job can suck, dig this about mine. Every year we have the high-stakes, high stress, standardized testing. The tests have the normal bubbling sheet where information like name, age, sex, race are bubbled in. Every year, instead of having the 18 year olds do this bubbling for themeselves, the teachers have to do it. We all meet after school and set around and bubble in this information -- for me that is about 25 students. This is one of the stupider things I have to do each year. The faculty howls like a demon over it, but the administration will not relent. Of course, those fine folks don't have to do any bubbling.

Stupider? You're an English teacher, right?

Yes, I am, but that does not make me perfect. I ascribe to descriptive grammar not the judgmentalism of prescriptive grammar (quite a struggle in the English academic world, I assure you). But that is also beside the point, feast yo eyes on this, right off dictionary.com.

Re: I got freakin' bubbling after school today!
I'm lost.
It sounds like you have to fill in the oval with a # 2 pencil next age, race, etc. Am I correct and if so how does one "bubble" the name? What happens if you, for instance, give "Joe's" pre-bubbled test to say "Fred" by mistake and they don't tell you just to crack you up?
Firgive me, for I am kind of stoopid.

My guess is that "Fred" would be very happy and "Joe" wouldn't be.
