What an inspiring, heartwarming and very true to the word, video clip. Thank you Lord Stanley for posting the link to this.
Too many people want to have the "perfect" child and when they learn that the little one inside of them is going to be born, "less than perfect," they might think, "Oh no...this is wrong, I can't bring an imperfect child into this world. It's not normal, what will this do to our lives, our family cannot handle it," blah, blah blah. Nothing in our world is perfect, the sooner people realize this, the better. We learn acceptance and we learn things that are simply unimaginable to others, because many people know and embrace that there is no one human being that is perfect and that is quite alright with them.

Re: It's Palin!
I will admit that I knew very little (and still don't know much about Sarah Palin's views and belief's) about her, the fact that she decided to go through a fifth pregnancy with a child who would be born with special needs and not abort for that reason alone, gets my respect right there.
She may or may not have had the genetic screening through amniocentesis, maybe she did, perhaps she declined the test altogether, whatever the situation was, she went through with the pregnancy and must have felt that no matter what, this is her child and she will deal with whatever the circumstances bring.
Bravo Sarah Palin!!

Re: It's Palin!
Lisa, if you read this thread, you won't like it. Sorry about that.
I love polar bears too, don't get me wrong.
We have to do something to lesson our dependency upon foreign oil. I for one am tired of them raping us with the high cost of oil (including our own oil/gas executives, whom earn millions and billions in salaries and bonuses, while the American people struggle to put food on the table and to pay their heating bills) I can't honestly say that this (our drilling into our own natural resources would bring the cost down, at least initially but..the sooner we let loose somewhat, our dependency of foreign resources, the better off America will be. We are too dependent on foreign supplies and this is not good. We need to let loose of our foreign dependency, I just don't know if it's too late.

Yeah, it does sound kinduv Bill and Hillary-ish, but I can't see the Republicans having much problem with it, or the majority of Dems either. It's got no legs, it has to be the most boring, minor "scandal" I've ever heard of. The weakness to exploit is her lack of experience combined with McCain's age.

Obama has lack of experience and Biden's no spring chicken himself. seems to me they cancel each other out

Re: It's Palin!
Well I guess there's two inexperienced people in the mix now. Obama and Palin.
The people will decide which of the two inexperienced they want. People look at who is on the VP ticket too. (possibly more in McCain's case because of his age, running for President, though Joe Biden as VP, is no spring chicken himself and I am not condemning Biden because of his age at all!)
Palin is going to carry a punch being on the ticket, in many ways. Don't underestimate the influence this woman carries. Not based solely her having a special needs child, but everything she believes in and yes, she will be powerful in reaching millions of people who believe in her values.
People in the US are divided on who they want to be be Commander In Chief, I also feel that people look at the VP running mate as well, when deciding their vote.
