Roughly 50 miles north, Steph.

One more sleep, starting very soon!

How could a tornado hit London?

From the morning news - Scotland and Northern Ireland rarely get tornadoes, but there are so many in Wales and southern England each year that Britain has the most tornadoes per square mile of anywhere on Earth.

One hit a small village called Bow Street last week, near where my Dad lives in west Wales. I saw one form in Cardiff about 10 years ago.

Of course, US tornadoes are more powerful, and there are more of them in total because the country is so large.

Thank you Annie! 90 sounds good, it would be great to have everyone's friendship here for at least another 40 years!

My hero Robyn Hitchc0ck is on the same label as Marah, so I was sent a link to this by the label -

The Boss plays with Marah!

In a surprise appearance, Bruce Springsteen joined Marah in playing the Light of Day benefit at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville NJ, on Saturday, December 2nd.

Bruce first took the stage at 12:30AM at the end of Marah's set. Dave Bielenko said: "They let anyone in this place!" and out came Bruce wearing a baseball cap and no guitar. They played a rousing "Raise Your Hand" and Bruce looked like he was having a lot of fun out there and so was the crowd. He was really into it! At one point Bruce says "I want you to get off your F****in seats right now and raise your hand!" The Boss then played guitar on an unreleased Marah song called "Reservation Girl."

And that's just one more reason why Marah is the best live band in the country!

Ok, quick LoD England memories -

First, very sorry that Sue could not make it. Listening to the traffic reports that day, I was very glad to be approaching Bedford from the South!

I did have some very good company though, Steve M. and son James from bs.net and the Wembley 02 meetup.

LoD billed as Songwriters in the Round but, in a description-defying format, Micky Kemp
http://www.mkb.info/mkb03.html
- check the biography and upcoming Glasgow gig - Joe D'Urso, Willie Nile and Jesse Malin lined up across the stage. They took turns doing one song each, with the others coming and going as accompanists/backing vocals. On Jesse's songs, Christine Smith played keyboards.

The 200-capacity show was a sellout but, although the front of the stage was full, there was plenty of room to move around the club and I followed the songs from side to side, taking what should be some pretty good pics (to follow).

Jesse was definitely on form, and the two songs that were new to me sounded excellent. I enjoyed Willie more than I thought that I would from hearing him on a LoD boot. Joe's voice has definitely got stronger in the past few years. The revelation to me though was Micky - he seems like a really accomplished singer-songwriter, with very entertaining lyrics. Steve M bears out that assessment, having seen him before and bought his CDs.

Show highlight was the "covers round" - Micky's 'Love on the Wrong Side of Town' with a full version of 'Pay Me My Money Down' in the middle, then Joe's 'Powderfinger', Willie's 'I Wanna be Sedated' and Jesse's 'Hungry Heart' was awesome fun.

Show ended at midnight with community singing of 'Happy Xmas, War is Over'

Post-show details to follow...
