Re: CABBAGE SOUP DIET
Try not to explain health, fitness and diet to chip boy. It's pointless to someone with a non working brain.

give up on the Atkins diet? man someone got really rich from that bs
Hi Freddie! I really enjoyed the Atkins diet when I tried it many moons ago. I was motivated to try it after my friend Kevin lost 140 lbs over 18 months. I also had a colleague who swore by it and I'm sure I lost a few pounds at the time. The nice thing was that I was able to have bacon & eggs and enjoy BBQ'd meats/salads etc that I loved so much so it worked at the time. I just can't imagine living without potatoes and bread for too long!

Ramona, that soup sounds really good, but I have to drink beer next Friday and Saturday (it's the last home football game for Purdue). Should I do it anyway?
Hi Lara:
If you are really interested in trying it, I say go for it. You usually lose a few pounds by day 4/5 anyway. I plan to drink on Saturday, which is my day 6. You'll feel the difference after a few days & it's a jump start on changing your eating habits if you want to detox off all the junk/food.

Re: CABBAGE SOUP DIET
Okay, I'll try it out starting tomorrow.
I had several friends try Atkin's out and dropped some serious poundage, but found that it was too hard to maintain for too long. My mom loves the South Beach diet since it's much more lenient and stresses healthy meats like fish and poultry instead of bacon and sausage (even though bacon and sausage are totally delicious!)

lol Lag. You're right. Cabbage makes me double over in pain, but I hear it works well.
Ramona...here's a great stir fry recipe for you...very tasty and low fat.
While boiling some whole grain pasta, start a little stir-fry with brocolli florets, carrot sticks, green pepper, garlic and onion, stir until softened. Then add 1/2 cup of chicken or beef broth and 1/4 cup low sodium soya sauce. Drain the pasta and add to the stir fry. Serve. It's very good, filling and low fat.

Cabbage doesn't give me gas, but oh, lord, do Meijer brand baked beans! I don't remember when I've farted so much.

Re: CABBAGE SOUP DIET
Beano helps with the gas problem. lol
Ramona, I wasn't able to get to the grocery store after work today to get the ingredients and tomorrow is a full day too and I'll probably want to get home as soon as it is over! No stops along the way.
So, I'm going to shoot for Wednesday getting to the grocery store. I'll keep you posted on how the soup turns out. :)

red wine and coffee.
you'll be underweight in no time.
you know what I really think? no one drinks enough water. water helps one lose weight. as well as eating for your blood type.

Punch...tell me about the eating for your blood type thing. I knew someone a long time ago that swore by that, but I never learned about it myself.
Water. 2-4 litres per day, essential.
Dr. Memmit Oz was on Oprah last week promoting a new book called "You and Your Diet". Basically, cut out the crap (sodium, bleached flour, preservatives) and cut 100 calories from your diet each day and you'll lose weight.
Use olive oil on your bread instead of butter.
Also....do you know what the "omentum" is?
