LAS VEGAS

I'm going to a wedding in Las Vegas in January. I'm not into gambling, not into the 'tack'. Is there anything else to do there? Any places anyone can recommend?

Nick, walking down the strip is pretty good fun, just to laugh at the tackiness.

You could go to a show, I think Siegfried and Roy are still on. =D

Lara's right, the Hoover Dam is awesome. You can drive to the Canyon in a day too, if you leave early. Or horse riding in Red Rock Canyon is also great fun.

Tyke Nick,
I really recommend the horseback riding in Red Rock Canyon. The views are spectacular, the horses are pretty much bomb proof and the people are wonderful. We went on the Sunset and dinner ride. My husband wasn't that wild about it but he had a fantastic time. The food was great; you get a steak bigger than you can possibly eat (I couldn't eat all of mine!). They pick you up at several hotels in Vegas and take you out to the ranch. The really was the highlight for me when we stayed in Vegas. I am not into gambling or all of the glitz though as Joe said, seeing all of the over-the top hotels on the strip is worth a look too.

Here is the link to the ranch we used.

Isn't there a roller coaster on top of one of the buildings in Las Vegas?

Yeah, the Stratosphere. they closed the coaster last year, but they have those drop things on it still.

Yes, it truly is! I would advise anyone who goes through the tour, down to the very bottom, etc. not to go during the summer months (hotter than hell) and not after an all nighter of gambling and no sleep. emoticon

You could feel very faint and nauseous.

Re: LAS VEGAS

Nick: I would highly recommend the flight tours to the Grand Canyon. The airlines will pick you up from several of the hotels and take you to the airport. Kirk and I took a scenic flight over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, & stayed overnight at one of the lodges on the south rim of the canyon. In the morning we had a sunrise tour of the canyon, and flew back to Vegas in the afternoon. It was a beautiful experience.
